Privacy Policy
Last updated: 11 July 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Pacer Build Ltd ("Pacer Build", "we", "us") collects, uses, stores and protects your personal data when you use our platform. We are committed to handling your data lawfully, fairly and transparently in line with UK data protection law, including the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
1. Who we are
Pacer Build Ltd is a UK construction workforce technology platform that connects contractors and homeowners with verified construction workers. For the purposes of UK data protection law, Pacer Build Ltd is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. If you have any questions, you can contact us at info@pacerbuild.com.
2. The data we collect
Depending on how you use the platform, we may collect:
- Account details: name, email address and password (stored only in hashed form).
- Contact and location details: phone number, town or city, and postcode.
- Worker profile data: trade, skills, years of experience, availability, biography and portfolio images.
- Compliance and identity data: National Insurance number, Unique Taxpayer Reference (UTR), identity document type and number, right-to-work status, and CSCS card details.
- Certification records and expiry dates.
- Job, deployment, rating and logged-hours data generated as you use the platform.
- Company details for contractors (company name, registration number, VAT number, registered address).
3. How we protect sensitive data
We take the security of your data seriously. Sensitive personal identifiers - specifically your National Insurance number, UTR and identity document number - are encrypted at rest using strong industry-standard encryption, so they are not stored in plain readable form. Passwords are never stored in plain text; they are stored using one-way hashing. Access to sensitive data is restricted: your compliance details are visible only to you and to authorised administrators who carry out identity and right-to-work verification. Other users, such as contractors browsing the workforce, never see these identifiers.
4. Why we use your data
We use your personal data to:
- Create and manage your account and profile.
- Verify worker identity, right to work and certifications.
- Match workers to jobs using our rule-based matching engine.
- Enable contractors and homeowners to post jobs and assign workers.
- Record deployments, ratings and logged hours.
- Send you service messages such as job offers, verification updates and certification reminders.
- Operate, secure and improve the platform.
5. Our lawful bases
We rely on the following lawful bases under the UK GDPR: performance of a contract (to provide the platform and its features to you); our legitimate interests (to operate, secure and improve the service, and to facilitate workforce matching); legal obligation (where we must process data to meet regulatory requirements); and consent (for optional marketing messages, which you can withdraw at any time in your notification settings). Where we process special category or sensitive identifiers, we do so only to the extent necessary to verify eligibility to work and to operate compliance features.
6. Sharing your data
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only as needed to run the platform: relevant profile information is shown to contractors and homeowners to enable matching and hiring (excluding your encrypted identifiers); and we use trusted service providers to host our infrastructure, send email, process file uploads and, where applicable, handle payments. These providers process data on our behalf under appropriate agreements. We may also disclose data where required by law.
7. Payments
Where payment features are enabled, card and payout details are handled by our payment provider and are not stored on our own servers. Any payment processing is subject to the payment provider’s own terms and security standards.
8. Data retention
We keep your personal data for as long as your account is active and for as long as needed to provide the service, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. When data is no longer needed, we take steps to delete or anonymise it.
9. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Ask us to delete your data in certain circumstances.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Request portability of data you provided to us.
- Withdraw consent for optional communications at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@pacerbuild.com. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK regulator, at ico.org.uk.
10. Cookies and sessions
We use essential cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in and to operate the platform securely. These are necessary for the service to function.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "last updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be communicated where appropriate.
12. Contact
